I love watching the play of sunlight — the way it lands on everything around, leaving behind soft highlights, shadows, glimmers. These are natural, everyday processes, nothing extraordinary, but there is absolute beauty in them.

This is the state I wanted to convey. The painting feels like an invitation to pause, to freeze for a moment, to stop rushing — and just look. Look and feel.

Combining oil and oil pastel, Mari creates a sense of continuous motion. Her energetic brushstrokes and expressive lines do more than depict visual impressions—they capture the breath of nature, its rhythms, and its pulses. The flexible canvas (58×84 cm) serves as a membrane, absorbing and transforming light into a vibrant pictorial language.

“The Play of Light” is an invitation to contemplation. The painting transcends the traditional landscape, evolving into a dialogue with the viewer, an attempt to convey something intangible—something that often escapes the eye. This is the essence of Mari Skakun’s work: they do not merely depict nature, but speak in its very language.

Mari Skakun’s visual language is a dialogue between expression and subtle sensitivity. Her works are built on the collision of impulsive, fragmented yet rhythmic lines with delicate color gradations that create depth and a shimmering effect. Layers of acrylic and wax crayons interact like recorded movements on the canvas, capturing not so much form as the pulsating dynamics of emotion.

This piece will transform a space, filling it with light and creating an atmosphere of warmth and radiance. It will not merely complement an interior but redefine it, infusing it with the energy of pure color and expressive gesture. Feel the vibration of color.

For safe and comfortable delivery, the painting is not stretched on a frame. After purchase, it will need to be framed at a framing workshop. This is an inexpensive procedure.

The bright accents of yellow, pink, and orange reflect the emotional exchange and passion that emerge in such moments. This piece is about the subtle, invisible interaction happening on the level of feelings and energy, where words are no longer necessary.

The special value of this painting lies in the fact that it was painted from life, allowing the artist to capture the uniqueness of the moment, frozen in a harmony that will never be repeated in the same way again.
